NAPIER - THE JEWEL OF THE OVERBERG
This sleepy little town is a
characterful and quaint village nestled in the Overberg area and only a mere
2 hour scenic drive from
The main crops grown here are wheat,
canola, oats and barley, but dairy and sheep co-exist very well. Late winter and early spring are when the
fields come alive in all their magnificent yellows of canola interspersed
with fields of emerald wheat.
Fynbos is predominant in this area
and one can find the Cape Sugarbird, Protea Seed eater and of course the
splendid Blue Crane (

views of L’Agulhas, the Southern most tip of

trail winds its way through some of the rarest fynbos and protea species in the world.

undulating wheat fields of the surrounding countryside are home to the Blue

the more adventurous we have the “commando trail” which spans over 4 days and
a true South African experience.
